Two Months Later.....

Well, not quite two months ~ but almost!
The Road to the Blogosphere is Paved with Good Intentions.

I am trying to figure out how I can be more attentive to my blog. How is it I had time for it for a few years and just don't anymore?  I really think it is because I rarely use my computer anymore.  I use my phone for everything except blogging and e-mails that are longer than 5 sentences.

Are blogs dying off?  It is super simple to just post things on Instagram and Facebook.  Granted, the photo quality is poor ( I will pay more attention to my camera on my next phone), but that never was my strength anyway.  Just last week I got 500 business cards printed and took the etsy site off the card, but kept the blog on, so I guess I should re-commit to this...maybe use it as a way to catalog what I have on hand.  Maybe use it to express myself a little deeper.  Maybe use it to figure things out ~ beaded and unbeaded things. I am at a time of transition in my life, but I just don't know what I am transitioning to/toward/into/whatever! I am far from unhappy.  In fact, I am feeling lighter in my heart every day (personally, not globally).  But I feel a change coming and am getting ready to embrace it.  I just wish I knew more about it.  Time will reveal all.  Or some, anyway.

Cynthia and I got together in November for a much needed weekend of Beading and Talking and Silence and Eating and Shopping.  It was Bliss.  I could have stayed until January if I didn't have a bottomless list of commitments. I asked Cynthia to show me the way of the Fringe.  It was one of the main reasons why I started beading all those years ago, yet it always alluded me.  I am still working on the sample piece she used to teach me and I do believe it is going to be spectacular when it is done.  In the meantime, I have been fringing away, with varying degrees of success.  I still have a ways to go, but I am enjoying the learning process immensely.  Touching fringe, seeing fringe, the sway of fringe, the weight of fringe (when done right, as I am still learning) ~ really REALLY excites me!  I don't even mind that is is so damn time consuming.  As of now, all I can say is MORE FRINGE!!!

First of all these photos of your pieces are spectacular! I share the love of fringe and love your fringe earrings so much, the one you posted recently and this top one here, so very pretty!

And also relate to this time of change coming up, not sure what/when/where/why but so ready for it all. I think this is happening to so many of us and it's all good.

Hi Christine,
Oh the art of fringe something I struggle with mine never want to hang straight. Yours look beautiful Cynthia is a good teacher. It has almost been a year since I posted on my blog. You are right about the phone I do just about everything on my phone now.

Hi Christine....I rarely read blogs anymore but had to come visit you! I think my blog is gone into the boneyard of long lost blogs. I can hardly keep up with the little social networking I do now. I love your new fringe work. It is lovely and I love anything that dangles and swings. I always stop in Northern Arizona where the Navajo ladies set up their tables. I like chatting with them about what they do and usually end up with several items. Since many of their earrings are fringe as well, just wonder if your designs have native influence? It's probably a dumb question but had to ask. I am always inspired by their work and tenacity to sit out in the cold temps (one lady says she is out every day unless the weather is too bad) to sell their beadwork.

ah ... your beautiful fringe ... you took this so easily like it was always meant to be. I am loving seeing your fringe come to life with your eye for colors and swing! I am completely taken with that last necklace .... reminds me of the spool challenge I did with peyote and all that fringe :) I love the bursts of turquoise - that is such a gorgeous one!

getting off the grid with you just feeds the soul. thank you my friend

Beautiful fringes!!!
What kind of thread are you using for your fringes?

Ugh. Somehow I missed this post. I hate it when that happens.

I also wonder why the world of blogging has lost its luster. I used to find it such a great motivator. Is there some magic fairy dust which will bring new life to our relationship with our blogs? Or is blogging self limiting, and its just reached the natural end to its shelf life?

Your fringe is frankly gorgeous. I love fringe. Cynthia apparently tuned you into The Way of Fringe so completely it became a part of you. I think it was always a part of you, in your DNA, it just needed an itsy-bitsy, teensy-weensy amount of coaxing to come out.

Transition. It's not always easy to embrace change. But, your adventurous spirit will find doors and coax them open. Peek inside, if you don't like what you see move on to the next one.

Hello my friend!! As infrequently as I have been blogging, I've also been just as bad about reading blogs. So I seem to catch up about once a month or once every two months!! As you know I'm lamenting over the future of blogging, but I am hopeful! :) I absolutely love what you've done with the fringe! I love all the pieces, but the peyote tubes with fringe are really speaking to me! Bravo!
