Ornament Swap Blog Hop

Ornament Hop Day ~ YAY!!!

A big thanks to Sally at The Studio Sublime for putting this hop together again :-)

My partner this year is Kim from Kimmykats and I am THRILLED, to say the least!  I love what Kim does with spoons and forks and how she makes them into jewelry. She uses them in very creative ways and has a style unlike anything I have ever seen.  The beauty she brings out in the silverware...you just cannot imagine that they were ever used as utensils! And she sent me a pair of fork tine earrings and a spoon necklace.  She turned this spoon into a lily.  I have worn these a lot since I got them and people always want to touch the pendant and look inside it.  It is too cool!  Check it out:

Kim started beadweaving this year.  She likes to refer to seed beads as "flying missles".  Can she weave!  Everything I have seen is fantastic...hard to believe she is a relative beginner.  And guess how she created her ornament?  With flying missles!!!  I couldn't be happier!  Well, I could...but we'll get to that in a moment.  Kim's ornament will be proudly displayed for all to see over the holidays. And once they are over, I am turning this beauty into a necklace.  I just have to wear it.  It is begging me.  It has all the elements I love...beauty, romance, crystals, daggers, bronze, Fringe!

How I could be happier?  If I knew something about photography.  So I could do Kim justice with these photos.  The colors are so hard to properly capture with the crystal and dagger AB finishes.  And we have not had a whole lot of sun around here lately.  But I am so in love with this :-)

So here she is...my new Love!  I even got a new sweater to wear with this once February rolls around and the decorations are all packed away. Beady Greatness!  Thank you Kim :-D

And now please go visit the other Ornament makers.  Jenny Davies-Reazor was my super-talented partner last year.  I keep her ornament up all year long :-)

Hi Christine,
Wow that is a gorgeous ornament and to think Kim just started bead weaving. You know that You and I had a hand in getting her started.
I also love the earrings and lily pendant she sent to you. I do not blame you one bit for wanting to make this into a necklace to wear whenever the mood strikes you.
Merry Christmas,
Therese

Oh Ms Christine you have me laughing and crying at the same time! It is very true thanks to you and Therese I started playing with these dam missiles....and in the end what beautiful friendships have come about. Thank you so much for the beautiful ornament you sent and my box of beauty to play with this winter. I will treasure it always.

What beautiful jewelry!! I just drooled all over my computer! I'd be wearing that spoon necklace every day. I'm with you, her ornament is way too pretty to only be seen once a year. You might try taking a pic in a light box, to see how the colors show up in that setting. But your pics still show how gorgeous it is!

Such a good name for seed beads! Half of mine are flying because the holes are too small... and then my husband carefully picks them up and puts them back with the good ones! I love that ornament you received it's so elegant!

What a lovely ornament you received and I feel for you on the photography - I struggle with shiny and sparkly too. I love the pretty design you sent Kim too.

I love the ornament Kim sent you. My first though was it would make a great pendant. Guess we think alike. The ornament that you sent her is beautiful too. You were so generous to send beads also.

What a beautiful piece you sent. I really love the colors of the pale purples and light blues of the beadwoven project you made. And the ornament you received... simply stunning! You both did a stellar job! I really enjoyed looking at the pieces!

What a box of treasures you received! I can totally see that ornament turned into a necklace. That way you can enjoy it all year round as well. Please don't forget to share it after the holidays :)
