A Time to Stitch Blog Hop is Here!

Yippee~the day has come for us to Hop!
A big big thank you to Therese for asking me to co-host.  She is talented and warm and nurturing and I just love seeing her in my in-box, don't you?  I have been saying "Ya'll" since I was a little girl.  So maybe that is why she has been such a comfort to me right from the first time we came into contact with each other.

Here is my necklace!  I made the majority of these flowers with Herringbone stitch.  Truthfully, it looks like it could be Herringbone or Square Stitch or even Ladder for that matter.  But I assure you I used Herringbone on 9 of the 12 flower stems.  For the other 3 stems I used Peyote, one of them being a 2-drop peyote stitch.  I really love the look of 2-drop Peyote. The ribbon is flat, even count Peyote with picot edging.  Simple and I let the colors do the talking.  I wanted to get complex, as these are 2 stitches I really love working with, but ultimately decided to execute this design I have been mulling over since February.  I am glad I finally did it...I was hesitant to start it and this Hop was the kick I needed to make it happen.  What was I so worried about?  It is just beads, after all!

Thank you to all the people on the Hop list for participating!  I can't wait to see what came out of your hearts and hands.

What a cool idea! I love the boquet, and the peyote ribbon just sets the stage. Thank you both for such a fun challenge, I have been smiling the whole time through this one! (I too, am a ya'll person!)

Those flowers are awesome Christine!!! I love the way they turned out! I have yet to do any dimensional stitching (flat is where it's at for me!), so I'm always impressed with more sculptural pieces like this. Thanks for hosting this fun hop!

And your bouquet of flowers is so pretty. A perfect accent for the season! I especially love the photo where you can see it hanging from your necklace. Reminds me of a May Day posy!
