This shell came back from Pensacola with a friend of mine. It has been on the bead table for a couple years now. I always knew I wanted to string it. And after years of fondling.....voila!
The chain is made of pearls, peanut beads and charlottes ~ all woven together in a zigzag stitch. The peanut beads give the chain a real nice dimension. There will be many more peanut zigzags in my future!
It looks like a big waffle cone...
...from the backside too!

This is an AMAZING piece!!! Don' we all dream of doing something with beach finds...well you've really done it. Masterfully!! I love the way you secured this shell to the rest of the piece. The seed beed and pearl colors are perfect compliment to this shell! Bravo, my friend!
This bead is amazing! Total waffle cone! I love how you picked up on its richer tones with the pearls. So perfect for a day at the beach or a tropical vacation.
Lovely necklace! I love that peanut bead zigzag chain
I absolutely love the feel and texture to this one! The organic shell and the pattern in it is striking and the zigzag is the perfect match for this! Genius using peanuts! I absolutely have to try that!
It does look like a waffle cone! I think you're queen of the shore finds! You selected the perfect colors and the texture in the rope just somehow match the shell or else just bring out the shell.. I don't know which. Whenever I see one of your pieces I think... I should go back and seed bead more! You're inspiring.
What a completely fabulous way to incorporate the shell into a necklace! I really love the way you attached it with the pearl - completely (and appropriately) organic looking. Hooray for you!!
Christine, this is absolutely one of the prettiest pieces I've ever seen, truly. What a magnificent necklace you have created with your pearls and peanut beads and charlottes. The shell is so special and the colors stir my soul ... very well done.
Beautiful Christine the peanut beads in the zig zag chain look like grains of sand. I love how all the different beads come together to highlight the wonderful shell.
Gorgeous! I love the tiny beads. They look like tiny bubbles
I so love worn down shells. Your use of the pearl to attach the shell to the necklace is brilliant. I can almost hear the sound of the waves when I look at it. You have created harmony.
Love this! Your beadweaving really highlights the texture in the shell. What a gorgeous shell. Can't you just imagine that tumbling all over in the ocean?
I think that is your prettiest piece yet. Wonderful!
Yummy!
