Thursday's Thing*
There are many more scattered throughout my bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, workshop, and treadmill.
Books...keeping connected, getting lost, viewing the world through another perspective.
Someday, I will read more than I do now. But when I do read, I shut it all out and dive in head first.
Who is it that said when we buy books, we think we are buying time?
I am on a book buying hiatus at this time, due to too many that live here unread (unless someone drops "The Holy or the Broken: Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, and the Unlikely Ascent of 'Hallelujah' " in my lap...girls, if you are reading this, Mother's Day is coming!)
What about you~what are you reading?
Or are you a non-reader?
I live with one magazine reader, one non-reader, and one who never ever stops reading books.
And...we have no e-readers in this house.
Do you have an e-reader? Why or why not?
*Appreciate what you have. Want for less...unless it is beads or music.

I love books! I love bookstores. I love my e-reader. ; ) I go to bed early every night just to make time to read. I've read to escape ugliness, to go on an adventure, to be inspired, and to learn something. Most of my bead and fiber books are hardbound. It's the novels and a few biographies that I carry with me in my Fire. It makes traveling easier and lighter. If I'm headed out to a doctor's appointment it's easy to grab and go. Do you have one?
I'm a book lover from childhood! I was an only child and reading was a way to travel and learn new things. I loved Nancy Drew!!! She was my first mystery series and I still love mystery series. My newest one i the Maisie Dobbs series. My husband is a reader and so are our children. Going to bookstores was something we all enjoyed when they were young. I'm also a lover of magazines. I have too many of them also! I don't have an e-reader and will probably be the last person standing when it comes to not having one. I love the feel, warmth and comfort books bring me. I like the smell of books! Can you tell I'm passionate about books?!!
Love, love, love books! At one time they were my big hobby! I couldn't get enough of books. I love a good fiction, but I will try anything once. We just finished reading the Gods of Gotham, my pick for book club loved it. I have a Kobo e-reader, and I was pleasantly surprised that I liked it, I thought I would miss real live books. I don't read on it entirely though, still buy books. I like to look at the books I have read. I am not a person that usually reads fiction books more that once though. But I love to keep them. What have you read lately? You are so eclectic Christine, I love it!!
so many questions this week! we are a big book family - all of us. no ereaders in the house, and plenty of magazines. Since we cut the cord on cable .... we've been reading even more these days!
I have switched to an E-reader. It keeps a happy home....not so many books laying around after I am done with them. I have been a reader forever....I remember begging Mom for money to buy books....
One of my fondest & earliest memories is discovering the library! I usually have at least three books going at a time ... real books, no e-thingy here!
I USED to read all the time...until I got an IPad 2 years ago. I gave my Kindle to my sister, who Loves to read. my Mom has a kindle, and reads a minimum of 10 books a week. Your post today reminds me that I need to get back with my books....I miss them!
I love to read too! And in fact, I joined a book club which meets once a month, love it. We are reading "In the Shadow of the Banyon" for April.
I LOVE books! There is nothing more comforting than the smell of books.
I love books! I only read before bed but stopped a couple of months ago. My days are so nuts that I fall asleep too quickly. Now I am journaling before sleep! Many of my friends have e-readers but of course I do not yet. Some day I hope to be able to work reading back into my life!
