Slight Learning Curve

I decided to shrug off responsibility yesterday and had a 15 hour bead-a-thon with myself.  I saw a twisted Brick Stitch on Pinterest.  So I followed the link to a free tutorial in some language other than the one I speak.  The photos were good so I tried it based on photos alone.  I was several hours in, wondering when it would get curly when it dawned on me that maybe I wasn't supposed to use all the same size seed beads!  So I  gently forced some curls with my hands ~ the ribbon of bead work happily submitted to my coaxing ~ then I added some fire polished beads for interest and decided for the first time in my life to make a bangle. Voila!

I went back to the bead table and ran size 15 down the outside and size 11 up the middle, thinking it would bring on an instant curl.  Again, it needed to be coaxed.  I went for earrings this time.

Nothing but snow so I think it will be a day of beading, cocktails, cooking, and cribbage. Tomorrow is looking like it might be the same kind of day.

What are you working on this weekend?

Cool bangle! Always love me some twists in the beads! I never have any luck trying to follow Pinterest links - chalk it up to my lack of knowledge in the technology department!

I decided to try to solder up a bangle today...no such luck so far, so I put spaghetti in the crock pot and did a load of laundry instead..... Such is my life!

Such style! You should be very proud of yourself, these turned out awesome. Glad you followed your feelings on what was the best thing to do on a snowy day ... not packing and starting another move, like some people we know.
I'm so tired of white & grey. Keep enjoying your weekend.

Those both turned out nice.

I am working on a cough. :( But I will try to turn out a pair of earrings tomorrow. I made a prototype today.

I think you're bangle looks great! I've found that sometimes you just have to force a curl into a piece of beadwork. I admire you being able to bead for 15 hours! I think I have an attention problem!! Stay warm and enjoy the cocktails, I think more snow is headed your way! We've missed all the predicted stuff so far!

what a fab bangle! And well done for trying out a tutorial in Russian. There are so many gorgeous Russian blogs out there, but my Russian just isn't up to the task!

Love this! Especially how you used some coaxing to get the effect you wanted.

Just like life, huh?

Ah, another great tutorial to add to my list! And since it's snowing like mad outside, I'll keep my fingers crossed that tomorrow will be a snow day from work and I can tackle this. Thanks for the beautiful examples of what this stitch can do!
