WTFriday?!!? Gaia the Goddess Continues to Give Me Grief

But really, is that any wonder, given the winter we have had?  And Spring hasn't been much of a joy either.  But I am not here to talk weather, I am here to ask for opinions about what you think of the necklace in this post (i accidentally just wrote "pissed"...Freudian slip!).   I posted about Gaia and how she came to live with me here .  We have had a bumpy ride together so far.  She gives me fits!  In the midst of a uber fit, I ran into a box and the lid popped off and this necklace was inside.  I had one of those "your peanut butter is in my chocolate/your chocolate is in my peanut butter" moments.  What if I took apart the bouquet and the flowers became a part of Gaia?  What if I did?  So I did.  Here is a rough draft.  What do you think?

Large eyes, large lips, ginormous thyroid, nice boobs, nice round belly...I am not attracted to her as a whole, but each individual part of her I love.

Thoughts?  Observations?  Comments?

I like it. Since I'm totally into the garden right now since it finally became spring/summer, she reminds me of a green man/woman figure. I like the blue ribbon and the white flowers. I think it's different and interesting.

She is beautiful Christine, very Mother Earth with her flower hair style and her green, blue and brown background, I love her! Gaia talked you your muse and she is dressed just right.

I love that you had a peanut butter/chocolate moment and I love your springtime looking piece ... once again, for me, it's those tiny beads hanging down that really set it off, and the blue!

Oh you know me and tribal ... you had me at hello! It is very 'beach tribal' to me ... the green / brown (coconut-y), large island flowers and blue sky dead ahead .... it is perfectly, beautifully tribal. LOVE it. (and your peanut butter - chocolate moment!)

She reminds me of the Maori Tiki legend (ok - you know how my mind works my friend). For the Maori, Tiki is the first man. He found the first woman (in this case Gaia) in a pond where she seduced him and he became the father. I love that the legend is 'strong female' and that he "became the father." I think she seduced him with those lovely flowers and some anatomy! ha!

What an amazing piece! I think you should try wrapping one of those gorgeous blue silk streamers around her forehead. See what it looks like anyway-Very tribal looking ;)

I like her but I think she needs seashells to play up the tropical feel. Cowries, maybe. Some abalone would also pick up the blues.

Christine. Even though she gave you fits. Gaia is wonderful. I think that you accented her perfectly.

That ribbon is gu-gorgeous! Love that blue... it reminds me of a car I had once. It wasn't the best car reliably, but I loved it for its color.

Maybe that's what can be said about the big necked goddess? :-)

The blue ribbon is so perfect, the sky come down to embrace Gaia. I'm hot and cold on the flowers. It seems fitting she is blooming but I'm not sure if the flowers overshadow her or not. Complicated stuff here :-)

Definitely an improvement! :-) She actually looks pretty... kind of an earth goddess, granola eating flowers in her hair kind of gal.
