A huge Thank You to the funny lady herself, Bobbie of Beadsong Jewelry! She is one of the biggest pleasures in my blogging life. Her words make me laugh and her creations make me drool, often at the same time :-)
I was so excited about this hop, sketched out a few ideas, and zoned in on this hat for inspiration.
Here's what happened:
Clearly, I wasn't channeling sophistication with these earrings. I shutter to think about what I WAS channeling.
So, after 2 days of struggling, I switched hats.
As you can see, after 3 hours of trying, I was not going anywhere with the pins I was striving to make:
I woke up the next day and these came into being:
I wonder what Vincent is thinking about that accessory on his hat?
Thanks for being here.
And another big THANK YOU to Bobbie for letting us do our thing with the inspiration she provided for us.
Please go visit the other participants in this hop.
Enjoy Derby Day, everyone!

I loved the drama and asymmetry in that black hat - and I saw potential in those black and white earrings!
The earrings you made for hat#2 are divine! Love the sparkle! ANd the bracelet is perfect - nice interpretation of the hat!
Love what you created...the colors are perfect!
OOOOh Christine .. these are so fun! those colors are great together - who knew orange and pink would work together, but they do! I think Vincent would give it 2 thumbs up :O
Love the oranges, really zingy colours :)
I love your story you told and I LOVE your glamorous pieces! The colors are incredible and your designs are enchanting and beautiful. Thank you for sharing!

Christine, your pieces are FABULOUS!! Who knew that those odd colors would be so grand together?!? The earrings are perfect, and the bracelet would be an elegant touch to wear the the wagering windows -- one should look stylish when betting on the ponies!
And what's Vincent thinking? Probably "Damn, I wish I could have worn one of those rocking hats instead of this broke down ol' straw thing..."
Thanks for being part of the challenge!
Love the colors and the textures- so pretty!
Love the colors and the textures- so pretty!
Great post. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that switched hats. Both pieces came out wonderfully with lots of sizzle. Oh ya! I think Vincent would love them, he was a guy who appreciated color and often choose bold combinations. Gorgeous work!
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED them all. :)
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED them all. :)
Your inspiration was fabulous, love the earrings and bracelet, they would really set that hat off. Fantastic designs.
I love what you created, it's so beautiful, those gorgeous earrings! And I'm sure Vincent would have ♥loved the colour combination. If you ever come to Holland you can bring the bracelet with you to the museum :-)

It seems that you and I had the same problems going on until the light bulb went off! The earrings and the bracelet are gorgeous! I love pink, green, and orange together.

Very pretty
Haha, you're so funny :)
I used the same hat! Its lovely, isn't it, and I LOVE orange!
The bracelet turned out so pretty!
Love what you designed and made. Those colours were definitely a challenge but you captured the feeling and style of that hat perfectly. Great work!
Bracelet turned out well.
I love what you did-the colors are perfect. Really enjoyed reading about your designing process, very cute! I think Vincent would approve...for sure!!!
Love your earrings but that bracelet really is gorgeous. Love those colors together.
I love what you did for the challenge! Those colors are my favorites for summer. I don't think the black and white earrings were so bad, either!
You chose one of my favorite hats - light, feminine and oh-so-festive. And you translated those qualities so beautifully in your earrings. And that bracelet - love that you kept the green soft and let the pink and orange have their say!
Aaah cuteness!! I love the happy colours. Coincidentally, I just posted something on Audrey Hepburn, who was a big hat wearer :)
Thanks so much Everyone! I really appreciate all the comments. Most of you were no-reply so I wanted to check back in here to thank you :-) Fun Hop~hope Bobbie does another one :-)
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again! I absolutely love the final pieces you created Christine, but could totally see the potential in those first two efforts! Orange is vying with purple these days for the title of my favorite color, and your earrings and bracelet are perfect examples as to why!
So much color in your designs. I love it! Van Gogh may be thinking his accessory is a little feminine, but inspiring! That black and white hat is amazing. Oh to have an occasion to wear such a stunner!
