A Time To Stitch 3 Blog Hop is FINALLY Here!!! WOO HOO!!!!!

Therese and I are so happy to do another Stitch Hop.  This time, it was a choice of at least on of the following spirals~Cellini, Russian, or African Helix~and one of the following flats~brick, ladder, square.

It was a tough hop for me, as 3 of those 6 stitches are brand new to me.
But I stuck with it and did pretty darn ok with them.

Thanks for being here and for taking the time to look at my work and the work of all the other Hoppers listed at the end of this post.  And a big thanks to those that signed up to participate in this one!

Ladder Stitch:

Reclaimed Sari Ribbon, compliments of Darn Good Yarn.

Cellini Spiral:

I favor bracelets, and was sure this was going to become one.  But WOW~is Cellini stiff!  So I used it as a necklace segment instead.

My first time doing Cellini.

Square:

I went back to an old favorite pattern of mine with square stitch.  I call it the Gallery Bracelet.  It is the first class I ever taught.  I originally used Swarovski cubes in my Gallery Bracelets.  But when I was at a bead show with Cynthia and saw these beautiful carnelians, I knew I needed to go back to this pattern and replace the crystals with carnelian.  I couldn't be happier with the look of the new and improved Gallery Bracelet!

Russian Spiral:

My First Russian Spiral!  Normally, I have very tight tension when I beadweave.  This is really loose.  I am not sure if that is normal for Russian Spiral, or if I was just really relaxed when I made it.  It is really comfortable on my wrist.

Brick Stitch:
Cynthia and I worked on these when we got together to bead a couple months back.  Check out hers here!  It is brick and ladder.  I put labradorite donuts on mine.  I made this design a while back but never got to teach it.  I was thrilled to finally get that chance with Cynthia.  She took to it superfast.

This one is a brick stitch with a pearl in  the center, anchored with the Reclaimed Sari Ribbon from Darn Good Yarn.  I like the Preppy/Bohemian split personality of this one.

Brick with 12mm twisted bugles.

Brick around a peacock pearl.  The chain is 2-hole tiles.

Africal Helix: (the Grande Finale)

Hi Christine,
First let me just say this challenge would not be the same if you were not my partner, thank you so much for putting up with me through out the challenge process. I love all of your pieces they are so very beautiful. My favorite is the square stitch bracelet I think you had me with the Carnelian cubes. I did not get a chance to do the African Helix, but I am still going to give it a try. Well it is 11:45 pm here and I have to work in the morning, so I am off to bed. Thank you again for being my co-host looking forward to round 4.

Christine - I ADORE that ladder stitch bracelet with the ribbon. It's WONDERFUL. You're right - I never think of it like that - but Cellini is super stiff. You certainly did a great job with all those stitches - all your pieces look great. Thank you so much for hosting the challenge again!

These were some surprising stitches, weren't they? Cellini is so sculptural and stiff, and Russian is so soft, even with Fireline and tight tension! I learned so much about spirals through this challenge, thanks so much for hosting another fun event.

So many beautiful pieces here, Christine. Love the timeless appeal of the brick-stitched pearl pendant, but my favorite has to be the brick-stitched bracelet. Who knew brick stitch could be so stunning?

Wow you were hard at work! Thanks so much to you and T for putting together another great hop! I loved it, even if I didn't read it and did the wrong stitch. LOL

(giggle) yes WOOHOO! another amazing hop by you and Therese! First I'll thank you (since I seem to have forgotten my manners over on Therese's blog) ... you guys have inspired me and pushed me. And I am so thankful to be comfortably using new stitches! WOOHOO!

You had me at 'hello' with that first one. I love what you're doing with fiber these days! The sari threaded through is perfect ... it gives it such a soft feminine touch! Your Cellini is striking ... the contrast of the deep grey/black with the vibrant reds is really wonderful! That is going to be one fun piece to wear! Oh and that square stitch bracelet with carnelian - BIG LOVE! Total 'duh' moment today when I realize that I thought there were only 4 stitches, but in fact there were 6 in the hop?! Now I'm going to have to try this stitch! I absolutely love the Russian Spiral and how the bead colors so perfectly blend with the toggle choice. It was made to go together! and it does look so comfy; beautifully done. What's not to love about the diamond bracelet we made together! LOVING that! and many, many thanks again for being my teacher on that one!

Might need to catch my breath! so much going on here! ok, now this preppy/bohemian one ... seriously... holy cow I love that. What a fantastic piece! LOVE, LOVE that pattern. Did I say LOVE? And there are those wonderful twist bugles ... I just so love the color of those and I like how subtle this pair of earrings are - you can wear them night or day!

Ok now this last piece is just you in every stitch! The colors are rich, they are happy and it is just a little bit tribal, a little bit Southwestern ... another beauty my friend.

Thank you again for a great hop, and for patiently teaching me new stitches!

So, I had to open up a separate window, so I made sure I didn't miss any of these pieces in my comments!
You probably heard me squeal when I saw the first one! Brilliant idea to use the sari! Then I was giggling about the cellini, cause that's why I only do short pieces of it. Then your beautiful Gallery bracelet. There is something about that bracelet that really calls to me. Totally my style.
I found the same thing with the Russian. It does get better the more you do, but it is still a very fluid stitch and feel. Then you knocked me over with the brick stitch/sari ribbon again! Love, love, love that!!
You are such a creative talent, and I'm so happy I get to play with you and Therese on these stitch challenges!

Wow - you were busy! I love the bracelet with the sari ribbon: so innovative! And the brick stitch diamond - gorgeous!

Cellini is one of my favorite stitches. My very, very first beading experience was a class I accidentally (don't ask) signed up for, and we made a cellini bracelet. It was very supple, so imagine my surprise when I tried to make another, and it was rigid like lead pipe:

But just like you - when beading gives you lemon, make lemonade, right?
I love the colors in your cellini!

Christine thank you so much for making me learn again! I so enjoy coming here and looking at your bead weaving talents. I adore the Cellini Spiral and should have made myself learn it...oh well there is time! Beautiful pieces from a beautiful lady thank you!

I just love all your beady goodness - every one is adorable. I am glad to see you added sari to the ladder one - it really made me look twice. Also the last one is brilliant . Thank you for such a fun challenge and for being so available and always caring. Do another challenge!!

Ahh, ooh, yummmy! I have to agree with others who have pointed out how fabulous your fiber/beadweaving combinations are -- I particularly love the harlequin diamond bracelet with the sari. To die for. And YES, Cellini is stiff!!! I know people make bracelets with that stitch, but I don't know how they do it. Your version is very cool, set off beautifully with the vibrant red beads in the rest of the bracelet. Thanks for an awesome selection of stitches for us to play with this time!

I just can undersign all the comments before mine. Love all your pieces, each one is so different, but beautiful. Maybe I'm just a little bit more drawn to that red color in the necklace with Cellini spiral ...
I need to give you and Therese a HUGE THANK YOU for this challenge, if it wasn't for it, I would probably still not tried to beadweave ... and I'm really enjoying it very much!

You are so talented Christine!!! My favorite is the first one due to the hot pink! All your stitches are amazing. You must have a great deal of patience to do all this intricate work. :)

Christine, thank you so much for co-hosting this with Therese, it was so much fun even though a few spiraled flew across the room! Your pieces are beautiful and I love the mix of sari with the beadweaving, very creative! Now, back to work on that African Helix piece :)

OMG, Christine, you really tried each and every stitch! They are all so beautiful, I like the look of Celini a lot - that necklace is intriguing :)
And the carnelian cubes are adorable in that bracelet, for some strange reasons it never occurred to me to mix seed beads with gemstones!
